Effective Friday, April 21, and until further notice, all obituaries should be submitted to Newtown Bee Editor John Voket at john@thebee.com. As a reminder, there is no maximum or minimum word length for obituaries. The word count, though, does affect the pricing.

An obituary under 800 words with no photo is $50. An obituary under 800 words with a photo is $75. A fee for each increment of 100 words will be an additional $20, so 800 to 900 words would be $70 for an obituary with no photo, $95 for an obituary with photo; 900 to 1,000 words, $90 for an obituary with no photo, $115 for an obituary with photo; etc. Whomever submits the obituary will be notified of the cost and payment will be required prior to publication.

For billing, please call The Newtown Bee’s office at 203-426-3141; deadline for payment is Thursday at 9:30 am. The office is open weekdays and available for calls from 8 am to 5 pm. Once payment is received, the obituary will be published online as well as in The Newtown Bee’s upcoming print edition.
