Free Legal Advice Clinic At Law Day In Newtown
Free Legal Advice Clinic At Law Day In Newtown
The Danbury Bar Association is sponsoring a free legal advice clinic in Newtown on May 2 as part of its Law Day activities.
The clinic will take place at the Edmond Town Hall, Alexandria Room, in Newtown on Tuesday, May 2, from 10 am to 1 pm. Local attorneys will be available to answer questions from members of the public in such areas as family law, personal injury, elder law, real estate and zoning, employment and business law, education law, and probate. Newtown Probate Judge Margo Hall will be available at the clinic to answer questions.
At the event, Newtown First Selectman Herbert Rosenthal will read the official Law Day proclamation issued by Gov John G. Rowland.
The concept of Law Day was first suggested in 1957 by Charles S. Rhyne, a Washington, DC, lawyer who was then president of the American Bar Association. Congress established Law Day USA in 1961 and set May 1 as the annual date. Every year, Law Day celebrates our freedoms and the role of law in protecting and preserving them.
