The DEep dIve Book Discussion Group, based out of Newtown High School and open to all community members, has scheduled its next meeting for Wednesday, April 27, at 6 pm at Newtown High School Lecture Hall, 12 Berkshire Road.

The group will be discussing The Color Purple, by Alice Walker.

A description for the book on the group’s website reads, “A powerful cultural touchstone of modern American literature, The Color Purple depicts the lives of African American women in early twentieth-century rural Georgia.
