A devoted husband, loving father, beloved brother and son, Jeffry Nezvesky died at the age of 44 on April 20 in his home on Phyllis Lane in Newtown.

He lived in Newtown his entire life, graduating from Newtown High School in 1979.

As a dedicated community volunteer, Jeff Nezvesky devoted more than 20 years of his life to the United Fire Company of Botsford where he held many positions, the most recent being commissioner for 12 years, first assistant fire chief, chief engineer, first assistant engineer, and steward.

As head of the Truck Committee for the Newtown Fire Commission, he was instrumental in developing specifications for the Town of Newtown's fire engines and the ladder truck.

He received certification as a diesel mechanic from Engine City Tech in Union, N.J. Over the last seven years, he was a truck engine account manager for H.O. Penn Machinery Company in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. He was recently recognized as the #1 Caterpillar truck engines salesperson in North America.

He was an active member of Congregation Adath Israel. He also was involved with indoor soccer and the Big Brothers organization.

Jeffry Nezvesky leaves behind his beloved wife, Bonnie; a devoted son, Aaron; his sister, Janis Nezvesky-Schertzer; two brothers, Joel and Jay Nezvesky; and his father, Samuel Nezvesky. He was predeceased by his mother, Florence Snow Nezvesky, and a brother, Jerold.

He also is survived by his nieces and nephews: Ryan, Blake, Floren, Emily, Valerie, Kimberly, Jessie, Brandy, and Jacob.

He will be sadly missed by family and friends who were fortunate enough to know his kindness, generosity, sense of humor, and positive attitude. He was a pure spirit who loved all people and knew how to enjoy life to its fullest. Jeffry never lost touch with his “inner child.”

Services were held at Adath Israel on April 21. Contributions in his memory may be made in the form of a Mitzvah — a good deed for another person — or to Adath Israel, PO Box 623, Newtown 06470.
