Rodenticide Policy Protects Wildlife
To The Editor:
Many thanks to everyone who turned out for the Board of Selectman meeting on Monday, April 20, in support the conservation commission's Anticoagulant Rodenticide Policy for Municipal Properties.
Public comment at meetings and the many letters sent to the BOS, have been extremely helpful in showing public support of this important policy that protects birds of prey and other wild creatures who inhabit our town. I also commend our Selectman for approving this policy, a statement for protecting animals who cannot speak for themselves.
Newtown can be proud that we are the first town in Connecticut to approve such an important ban. Others will likely follow our lead.
