Fairfield University Announces

Crash Course In Museum And Gallery Curating

FAIRFIELD — Fairfield University’s School of Continuing Education will offer a one-week intensive course in “Museum and Gallery Curating,” to be taught by Dr Philip Eliasoph, a professor of visual and performing arts. The course will meet Monday, June 19, through Friday, June 23, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm each day.

“Museum and Gallery Curating” is an introductory course on the practices, techniques, methods, and issues related to the contemporary art museum and gallery. Students interested in art history and the field of museums, arts administration and arts management will find this course useful to their academic and professional interests.

Students will visit a number of museums and gallery venues to learn the mission of a museum or commercial gallery or auction house. They will also study the practical “behind the scenes” nuts and bolts tasks and strategies that are used by professional staff.

To register or for more information, call the School of Continuing Education at 203/254-4220 or 888/254-1566.
