Crash Course In Museum And Gallery Curating
FAIRFIELD â Fairfield Universityâs School of Continuing Education will offer a one-week intensive course in âMuseum and Gallery Curating,â to be taught by Dr Philip Eliasoph, a professor of visual and performing arts. The course will meet Monday, June 19, through Friday, June 23, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm each day.
âMuseum and Gallery Curatingâ is an introductory course on the practices, techniques, methods, and issues related to the contemporary art museum and gallery. Students interested in art history and the field of museums, arts administration and arts management will find this course useful to their academic and professional interests.
Students will visit a number of museums and gallery venues to learn the mission of a museum or commercial gallery or auction house. They will also study the practical âbehind the scenesâ nuts and bolts tasks and strategies that are used by professional staff.
