Wins Media Award

The Leverage Marketing Group has been named a recipient of the Communicator Award 2000 Print Media Competition.

The Newtown-based advertising and marketing communications firm won in the marketing/self promotion category for its unique use of pocket Scrabble boards. The award also recognized the company’s use of accompanying creative copy, which displayed the names of Liazon and Goodwick Associates and their new joint entity spelled out in Scrabble tiles with the theme “Play to Win in 2000.”

“We’re pleased that our very first project is an award winner,” said principal David Goodwick. “Since our component agencies and Scrabble all have their roots in Newtown, not to mention we’re all in the business of selling high-scoring words and messages, we thought this made a lot of sense.

“Plus it was fun,” Mr Goodwick continued. “And based on the responses we’ve gotten, everyone seems to agree.”

Prior to merging last fall, Liazon and Goodwick Associates were no strangers to awards. Liazon, a consumer sales promotion firm, has serviced such national accounts as Sprint, Coca-Cola, and Alamo Rent-a-Car. The company was also a co-recipient last summer of the industry’s prestigious Reggie® Award.

Goodwick Associates, a 15-year-old business-to-business MarComm mainstay for such clients as Sealed Air, Photronics and many others, has been a four-time winner of the GraphicDesign: USA Award of Excellence.
