Anxiety Disorders Screening
DANBURY â Are you among the millions of people for whom anxieties, fears or obsessions are so real, serious and persistent, that they interfere with daily life? If so, then you can learn more about anxiety disorders, their symptoms and effective treatments at the Danbury Hospital Community Center for Behavioral Health (CCBH) on Wednesday, May 3.
The mental health professionals at CCBH will offer the free screening from 8 to 9:30 am and from 6 to 7:30 pm during National Anxiety Disorders Screening Day (May 3) at CCBH, located at 152 Main Street.
Screening participants will view a video, complete a screening questionnaire and meet with a mental health professional to review the questionnaire and receive information about the conditions classified as anxiety disorders, which include panic disorder, phobias, obsessive-compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, and generalized anxiety disorder.
âAnxiety disorders bring a great deal of suffering and pain to millions of Americans each year,â said David Sperling, MD, Danbury Hospital Community Center for Behavioral Health. âThe good news is, these illnesses can be treated quickly and effectively. Participating in the National Anxiety Disorders Screening Day on May 3 is a first step in the right direction to find help.â
