A Lack Of Respect

To the Editor:

I feel it necessary that I respond to a letter to The Bee last week [“Hope He’s Right,” Letter Hive, 4/24/09]  describing our current selectmen as “The Three Stooges.” I believe this statement showed a severe lack of respect by the author.

Our selectmen have continued to burden the residents of Newtown with ever-increasing taxes and have destroyed the education of our children with their irresponsible spending on Fairfield Hills.

Based on our elected officials track record, I think it is an insult to the legacy of The Three Stooges to be compared to the individuals currently in charge of our local government.
