Summer Program For Girls At Westover School
MIDDLEBURY â Westover School will offer Westoverâs Summer Programs, an exciting, challenging, and enjoyable summer program for girls currently in sixth, seventh, or eighth grade, and interested in the arts or academics.
The school will be offering the camp in two sessions, Session I running from July 22 to 27 and Session II running from July 29 to August 3. Campers will live in the school dorms.
The summer camp will build on the previous foundation of its popular Women in Science and Engineering, and Drama summer camps. This year, the camp will offer eight areas of focus that include: Women in Science and Engineering, which will offer hands-on experience in math, science, and computer science; Drama, including staging, theatrical makeup, costuming and set-building; Dance, which will offer a fusion of essential dance elements and rhythmic adventures; Photography, which will culminate with the studentsâ own gallery show; Ceramics, which provides student with all the fundamentals of the art while they create their own pieces; Creative Writing, combined with a book making project; Model United Nations, an introduction to the United Nations, including a field trip to New York, and National Security Council where students will address a fictional crisis of national concern.
This camp for girls only will nurture campersâ creativity and promote confidence-building skills. Campers will participate in hands-on activities during the day and exciting afternoon and evening activities such as arts and crafts, games, and talent show competitions.
