Boys U14

Strikers 3, New Canaan 2 – Michael Renz, George Delia and Michael Terlaga scored to lift the Strikers in a come-from-behind win. Goalkeeper Christian Gregoire had a spectacular first-half save as Greg Campbell, James Radcliffe, Liam Ferguson and Ryan Pasko paced the defense.

Boys U13

Force 7, New Canaan 0 – Sean Burson scored three goals and John Imbimbo added two of his own to lead the Force to the easy win. Travis Leblanc, Francis Afriyie and Joey Van Veen all added goals.

Boys U12

Cobras 2, Stamford 2 – Connor Quinn scored twice, assisted by Eric Fiore on one goal, in the draw. Nick Gerbo and Nick Barreto navigated the ball well through the midfield while Noah Sock, Pieter Martino and Stephen Conway led a solid defense. Chris Erikson had an exceptional game in goal with a dozen saves.

Cobras 4, Norwalk 0 – Sam Langdon, Andrew Kelley, Eric Fiore and Connor Quinn notched a goal apiece to lead the Cobras. Newtown dominated midfield behind the play of Robert Willis, Danny Bittman and Collin Moller, who also added an assist. Defensively, keeper Sean Elliot had a superb game with better than a dozen saves.

Boys U10

White Lightning 3, Fairfield 2 – Brenton Scott scored two goals and Kaj Djonne added one to lift the Lightning. Constant Gregoire, Clay Gattey and Luca Imbimbo had assists. Ryan King and Dillion Wikramanayake controlled the midfield as Knute Johnson, Nathyn Horvath and Graham Hubbert were excellent on D.

 

Girls U10

New Canaan 5, Lightning 0 – In their season opener, the Lightning fell to a tough New Canaan team that hasn’t lost a game in two years. Taylor Lafave was strong on defense, and Dale Shearin and Emily Riley handled the nets.

Lightning 5, Fairfield 0 – Newtown dominated Fairfield as Sarah Lynch scored three goals and Meaghan Brophy and Kailee Dunnigan scored one goal apiece. Goalies Sienna Cicarelli and Amy Martinelli had excellent games with numerous outstanding saves.

Lightning 3, Ridgefield 2 – Sarah Lynch scored two goals and Emily Riley scored one to take the Lightning to the win. Taylor Lafave and Megan Meyer were superb on defense, frustrating Ridgefield’s efforts to penetrate the backfield. Dale Shearin and Sienna Cicarelli both played great in the goal.

IN-HOUSE

Girls U14

Purple Pirates 1, Turf Trashers 0 – Jillian Thompson scored the lone goal of the game to lead the Purple Pirates. Jenna Stromsky, Emily Audet and Marysa Audet all played well. For the Purple Pirates, Rebecca Silveira and Katie Peters played great games in goal as Madigan Chrystie was solid at forward.

Piranhas 2, Hurricanes 1 – Kyra Murray and Emma Iannini each scored a goal to lead the Piranhas to their first win of the season. Emily Albrecht and Clare Donnelly both defenders had great games. For the ‘Canes, Marilyn LaCroce scored the only goal as goalies Kyra Smith, Elena Unschuld, Samantha Lew, Samantha Whitley and defender Jessica Haitz all played very well.

Boys U14

Dynamite 9, Golden Toasters 3 – Brett Pearce, Ryan LeMay and Wesley Morlock scored two goals apiece while Tanner Janesky, Yossi Kohrman-Glaser and Ryan Pisani each scored a goal to lead the Dynamite. For the Toasters, Francis Saracini had a hat trick as Jonathan Vaughn, George Ferris and Franky Biancardi all played strong games.

Meteors 2, TNT 0 – Kieran Lardner and RJ Roman scored a goal each to take the Meteors to victory. Zack Baudisch and Doug Brede anchored the D. For the TNT, fullbacks Austin Quinn and Dan Olszewski played well while Fredrik Dean and Hunter Bassett had great offensive drives in midfield. Devin DiNicola was strong up front.

Boys U10

Scorpions 1, Camel Shards 0 – Patrick Rowley scored the game’s lone goal to lead the Scorpions to the win. Dan Cummings continued the attack on both sides of the field while Michael Marcinek played tenacious D with Zachary Weiland making a number of saves in the net. For the Shards, Henry Summ played a great game on offense with Joshua Tuffy assisting from the midfield. Kaustau Mitra kept the game close with a strong performance in the goal.

Wolverines 5, Camel Shards 2 – Harry Solaski scored two goals with Matt Wood, Isaac Farrington and Brandon Rodriguez each scoring one to lead the Wolverines. Joshua Tuffy scored both goals for the Camel Shards. Michael Unschuld did a great job as goalie, and Thomas Meier was excellent on defense.

Team Norris 5, Red Bulls 2 – Cole Rogalin notched a hat trick to power Team Norris. Christopher Grosso and Otto Kerler also played well. For the Red Bulls, Carter Nordman and Anthony Vournazos each scored.

Team Poarch 5, Scorpions 4 – Colin Reilly, Michael Stierle, Joseph Perkus, and Travis Hanna all scored as Charlie Poarch played well in the net and added a goal as well to lead Team Poarch. For the Scorpions, Patrick Rowley scored a hat trick with three second-half goals. Liam McNichols added an additional tally as well. Cary DeYoung helped out with a strong effort on both sides of the field.

Dynamite 2, Oskars 0 – Wesley Morlock and Grant Shaw scored the goals to lead Dynamite to victory. Noah Burhance played very well on offense and Patrick Berger and Danny Toby played great defense. For the Oskars, Jeremy Doski was excellent in goal, Alec Hersh and Noah Orakwue played strong on defense and Mustafa Sakhi supported the offense.

Girls U10

Rockets 4, Mad Monkeys 0 – Jessica Coughlin and Cate Haggerty scored two goals each to lead the Rockets to the win. Hannah Booth played a rugged game on both offense and defense and Hannah Schneiderman was solid in goal. For the Monkeys, Sarah Lampel played a great all-around game. Emily Jerris was strong on defense and Veronica Moyer and Geralyn Klein played well on offense.

Tie Dye Tigers 5, Nighthawks 1 – Emily Grimes and Jesse Sailer scored two goals apiece while Meghan Grimes added a solo to lead the Tigers. Leah Bromberg and Hannah Grant played well. For the ‘Hawks, Portia Baudisch scored the goal as Alyssa Ruefenacht, Renee Henriques and Julia Schoeni had strong games

Girls U8

Mustangs 5, Huskies 0 – Alana Murray and Nevan Gattey scored two goals apiece and Nicole Russo added a solo to lead the Mustangs to the win. Sarah MacMullen and Allison Indelicato notched assists. For the Huskies, Reilly Smith was great on offense while Emily Toby and Sydney Johnson were solid all around. Celia Gold sparked the defense.

Rockets 4, Team (#8) 2 – Brittany Antous scored three goals and Sarah Lyon added a solo with assists from Caitlyn Linden and Hannah Hripak to lead the Rockets to the win. For Team #8, Madeleine Strokis and Emily McCoy scored while Samantha Crespo played well in goal and Brianna MacDonald played well on defense.

Fighting Irish 3, Killers 2 – Lauren Villamana, Alexis Tucker and Madeline Sieber all scored to lead the Irish. Lindsey Francisco was a force all over the field and Amanda Wikramanayake was outstanding in the goal making a number of saves. For the Killers, Anna Biondi scored two goals as Caroline Keane and Emily Neave played fantastic games offensively. Stefanie Carr and Amanda Donovan played tremendous D.

Pink Panthers 2, Wild Cats 0 – Grace Sandercox scored two fourth-period goals to lift the Panthers to the win. Goalie Katie Reilly made six saves in the third period to help preserve the win. Erin Nelson was strong in goal for the Cats while Sabrina El Hag played well on defense.

Happy Hippos 4, Power 0 – Amanda Albanesi, Meghan Doyle, Julia Doyle and Jamie Calandro all scored goals to lift the Hippos to the win. Victoria Teixeira played a great all around game. For the Power, Caroline Caporale, Kayla Disibio and Annie Hoffman played well as Juliana Patelli had a great game in goal.

Smelly Skunks 2, Funky Monkeys 0 – Emily Charash scored two goals with assist from Maddie Bridges and Ashling Sugarman to lead the Skunks to the win. Molly Begg was strong in goal. For the Monkeys, Jessica Maturo, Kathryn Blanco and Megan Olszewski played well. Megan Nahmias was solid on defense.

Boys U8

Silver Scorpions 5, Flying Tornadoes 0 – Quinn Helmig scored three goals while Ellis Hubbard and Evan Londono (off an assist from Jake Oliver) scored solo goals to lift the Scorpions. Gavin Stubbs anchored the D. For the Tornadoes, Theodore Silverman played a great game in goal, Jack Bittman played a strong game on defense, and Korey Brodsky and Jacob Ermis played well offensively.

Team (#7) 4, Tigers 0 – Connor Flint scored two goals while Josh Houle and Jamie Cochran scored one each to lead Team #7 to the win. Bob Katrinak played a good all around game. For the Tigers, Kendall Ashby and Cameron Mitchell played well on defense as Austin Engler and Scott Martin sparked the offense.

Torpedoes 5, Lightning Bolts 2 – Chris Healy scored three goals and James Carney added two to lead the Torpedoes to the win. Cal Creedon played well on defense. For the Bolts, Dylan Kretz and Matthew Bucci scored as John McCann paced the defense and Matthew Kretz was strong on offense.

Rockets 4, SuperChargers 1 – Ryan Kiss scored two goals and Jack Wellman and Mark Urso each added a solo to lead the Rockets to the win. Lucas LaDestro played strong defense with Ryan Marron jump-starting the offense. For the ‘Chargers, Ian Wilson, Bryan Morrissey and Nate Sanchez anchored the D. Colin Patrick scored the lone goal as Owen Samson supported the offense.
