JP Maguire 15, Brookfield 10 – Taylor Johnson pitched three innings of no-hit ball, recording nine strikeouts, to lead JP to the win. Morgan D’Avola chipped in with one hitless and two strikeouts. Jen Callery led the offense with three hits while Caitlin Teftt added two hits. In her first softball game, Tori Picerno roped a two-run single in her first at bat and added another RBI on a fielder’s choice.

Dr Curtis Beck 8, Hull Landscaping 6 – Erin Begg had seven strikeouts and gave up one run in three innings pitched to lead Beck to the win. Kendall Svanda played well defensively as Katie Fossum and Kendall each scored two runs. For Hull Landscaping, Jessica Gibbons had six strikeouts and gave up one run in two innings pitched. Shannon O’Gorman scored two runs and Tara Dawley played well defensively.

Keno Graphics 7, The Toy Tree 5 – Great defensive plays by Heather Leone and Kira Reed helped lift Keno to the win. Megan Davis had a solid hit as Ali Kennedy and Maggie Kennedy both pitched well, combining for 11 strikeouts. For The Toy Tree, Mallory Ames collected two hits, Monica Macchiarulo pitched two strong innings with 6 strikeouts, and Natalie Galante crushed a two-run homer.

Newtown Junior Women 14, The Toy Tree 2 – Strong pitching by Alena Ruscoe, Amanda Rowan and Julia LeBlanc limited The Toy Tree to two runs as the Newtown Junior Women secured the win Amanda Rowan, Casey French and Kelly Brassard hit the ball hard. For The Toy Tree, Mallory Ames and Emily Nacewicz combined to pull off a triple play while Natale Galante blasted a long ball to right field. Monica Macchiarulo and Mallory Ames pitched well.

designerbodies 12, Hull Landscaping 9 – Elizabeth Grimes’ two-run single was the big hit for designerbodies. Lauren McMahon and Ashley Cirone also hit hard and Rhea Schneider pitched well. For Hull Landscaping, Taylor Bruno led the offense with two hits and two runs scored. Shannon O’Gorman also hit hard and Julia Clarke and Nora Murphy turned a triple play.

designerbodies 11, Rich’s Keys & Locks 8 – Colleen Durkin and Elizabeth Grimes had three hits each to lead designerbodies while Ashley Cirone and Lydia Post both had two. Carlie Gehrman made a nice catch in the outfield. For Rich’s Keys & Locks, Katy Appley had a good hit and played strong defense, Kamryn Harmeling made a nice catch and Alexa Powell pitched three strong innings.

designerbodies 14, Newtown Junior Women 9 – A 10-run fifth inning rallied designerbodies to a come-from-behind victory. Rhea Schneider pitched three strong innings and had a key hit to pace the offense. Caitlin Dowling, Colleen Durkin and Lydia Post all had two hits and Ashley Cirone made a great catch in the outfield. For Newtown Junior Women, Mariah Joy had two hits, Amanda Rowen hit a long triple and Alena Ruscoe pitched well for three innings.

Newtown Pools 16, Cold Stone Creamery 0 – Strong defensive play and hitting from Katie Laaksonen, Lauren Wilcox and Stefanie Carr powered Newtown Pools. For Cold Stone Creamery, Christina Moore and Alexis Tucker pitched a great game and Kayla DiSibio played well at first base.

Newtown Pools 16, Carminuccio’s 3 – Lauren Wilcox belted a triple and pitched a strong game to lead Newtown Pools. Lauren Beier, Hannah Bellagamba and Haley Ryan combined for several hits. For Carminuccio’s, Bridget Duero had two put outs and Caitlyn Linden had two nice plays in the field as Madelyn Meier and Courtney Demeglio had nice hits.

STUDENT

Risko Foundation versus Goyda’s – Emily Bell, Julia Shugrue and Brook Varnum played well for Risko as Megan Kelleher, Megan Goyda and Julia Bagdonoff powered Goyda’s.
