Hovey Intends To Seek Another Term

State Representative DebraLee Hovey of the 112th District, which includes Monroe and one southerly voting district in Newtown, announced that she will be running for reelection.

“I am honored to serve the citizens of the 112th and love the job,” Rep Hovey said in a release. “It is my hope the people know I work hard every day for them and will continue to do my best for the citizens of the towns of Monroe and Newtown. I ask them to support me in November.”

The lawmaker said as in the past, her campaign will not accept citizen’s election tax money to finance her election, and will need individuals to write checks to support her candidacy.

“I do not think with all the fiscal issues we have here in Connecticut we should be financing campaigns,” she said.

Rep Hovey said her campaign manager Frank Lieto along with treasurer Gary Scrofani will be happy to receive any and all contributions, and that she already has gathered “a team of individuals who will be working on DLH 2012 campaign.”

“I believe in grassroots politics,” said Rep Hovey, “Anyone who would like to participate in the campaign is more than welcome. Everyone has something they can contribute no matter how large or small, it all counts toward a win in November.”

Anyone interested in learning more about the campaign is invited to contact Mr Lieto at 203-331-2597.
