Do Your Part And Vote
To the Editor:
Next Tuesday, May 9, will be the second referendum for this yearâs budget.
I know I was one of several people to write a letter last week in absolute disgust over the lack of voting the first time around. I am asking that this time people realize it is important, and it will affect them. Please do your part to be an active citizen, care about the town you live in, and take the time to vote.
If you are a parent and are worried about bringing your child, donât worry. It is a great experience for kids to see the democratic process in action. It will encourage them to vote when the time comes for them as well.
Please do your part on Tuesday. Take the time to go to the polls and make your voice be heard. While a Yes vote would be ideal and would ensure that Newtown continue to be the great town it is, any vote at all would be wonderful. Itâs time to realize you have a say in the town you live in. Do your part and vote!
