Joseph A. Troy, Jr, 77, of Norwalk, died April 26 at his home. He was the husband of Ann Bogdany Troy. Mr Troy was born in Norwalk on July 7, 1928, son of Joseph A. Troy, Sr, and Irene Downes Troy.

Survivors include three daughters, Diane Merrifield of Newtown, Joan Marie Geyer of Redding, and M. Beth Troy, of Trenton, N.J.; three sons, Michael J. Troy and Patrick A. Troy of Sandy Hook and Joseph A. Troy III, of Westport; 13 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A brother, Francis W. Troy, preceded him in death.

He had served in the US Army during World War II and was retired from the Norwalk Public School System where he was supervisor of physical education and director of athletics.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated May 1 at St Matthew Church, Norwalk, with burial at St John Cemetery, Norwalk.
