Local Man Pleads Not Guilty To Felony Sex Charges

By Andrew Gorosko

A local man has pleaded not guilty to ten pending felony charges involving his alleged illicit sexual contact with children.

In Danbury Superior Court on May 2, David F. Csanadi, 34, of 10½ Aunt Park Lane pleaded not guilty to three counts of first-degree sexual assault, three counts of risk of injury or impairing the morals of children, three counts of illegal sexual contact with a child, and one count of third-degree possession of child pornography.

Csanadi is represented by a public defender in the case.

Csanadi is being held on $1 million bail at the MacDougall-Walker Correctional Institution in Suffield. His next appearance in Danbury Superior Court is scheduled for May 24.

Police Chief Michael Kehoe said this week that the police investigation into Csanadi’s activities is continuing, with the prospect of additional charges being filed against him.

Police have disclosed little information about the case, with the warrants in the investigation currently being under seal by a judge.

Newtown police obtained a search-and-seizure warrant for Csanadi’s residence and executed it there on April 8.

“It was a tip from [Monroe police] that gave us enough information to obtain a search-and-seizure warrant,” Chief Kehoe has said.

Through evidence collected at Csanadi’s home on April 8, police developed criminal charges against him and sought the arrest warrant which they served against him there on April 15.

Csanadi, who is a lifelong resident of town, has two prior convictions stemming from arrests made by Newtown police. They are a 1998 conviction on first-degree criminal mischief, which is serious vandalism, and also a 2001 conviction for violation of probation.
