Weekend Long Wallace Nutting

Collectors Club Convention Planned

DANBURY — The annual convention of the Wallace Nutting Collectors Club will be Friday and Saturday, May 13-14, at the Danbury Plaza Hotel & Conference Center, 18 Old Ridgebury Road.

This annual convention is the premier gathering spot for anyone interested in collecting Wallace Nutting photos and furniture, or hand colored photos by other photographers.  A gathering of members from around the country will be meeting for the weekend.

Friday afternoon May 13th begins with the annual Wallace Nutting auction, preview at noon and auction beginning at 2 pm.  This year’s auction will contain over 500 Wallace Nutting, Charles Sawyer, Fred Thompson, and David Davidson photos, among others. There will also be over a dozen pieces of Wallace Nutting furniture.

A hospitality suite will remain open following the auction, offering the opportunity to meet and network with other collectors in a relaxed atmosphere.

Saturday’s agenda will open with a sale/trade and exhibit in the morning. Club members will be sharing unusual photo and furniture pieces to sell or trade.

The annual club meeting will take place at a club member’s home (call for details) and will include several Wallace Nutting presentations followed by an open house at a club members home to view an impressive collection. A cocktail reception and dinner beginning at 6 pm will conclude Saturday’s events.

For more information about the convention, contact Sharon Lacasse at 508-428-0562 or sblacasse@comcast.net, or visit WallaceNutting.org.

The Wallace Nutting Collectors Club started in 1973 and today has grown to more than 400 members throughout the United States and Canada.  Its objective is to help members learn more about Wallace Nutting and other hand colored photography artists of the early 1900s.

The club offers one of the bests way to make contact with other collectors and dealers, and learn about events and special information that will be of interest to collectors of fine hand colored photography.
