Hawleyville Volunteer Fire Company’s Engine 331 is staged at the corner of Ledgewood and Boxwood drives in Brookfield early Thursday morning, April 25, when multiple companies responded to a structure fire on Boxwood Drive. Heavy fire was reported in the one-story condominium unit around 1 that morning. Firefighters were on the scene for nearly seven hours before fully clearing. The American Red Cross reports eight families, which included 14 adults and two children, were displaced by the fire. —David White photo
