Boys C/D

Pink Muffins 4, Jaguars 3 – Evan Batzer scored two goals and Kevin Reed added another for the Jaguars, but it wasn’t enough to secure the victory. Ryan DiLuoffo, Joshua Muniz, David Hajzer and Brian Grimes played great at midfield. Brandon McGuinn and Ben Cruson anchored the defense as the Jaguars tried to shake the cobwebs.

Jaguars 5, Danbury 0 – Dan Kowarick and Evan Batzer scored two goals apiece while Stephen Ashbolt added another to pace the Jaguars past Danbury. Timmy Lacouture and Steven Jaroszewski provided assists on two of those goals. Key players at midfield were Brandon Bennett, David Hajzer, and Joshua Muniz.

Girls C/D

The Stride 3, Stallions 0 – Sam Dinnan, Robyn Abbot, and Caitlyn Coster all scored goals to lead The Stride to victory.  For the Stallions, Alanna Gilbert played a great all-around game along with solid efforts from Nicki Haylon, Jacqueline George and Rachele Cox.

Thunderfeet 5, The Stride 1 – Natalie Villa scored five goals to lead the Thunderfeet to the win. Rebecca Caraffiello, Jessica Balsano and Casey Ferguson played well. For The Stride, Sara Pollack scored the goal while Nicole Vournazos, Marrisa Hansen and Rebecca Reed played well.

Boys E

Vipers 1, Blaze 0 – Ian Solaski scored the lone goal, leading the Vipers to the win. Chris McGowan, Reid Higham and Matt Hoffman anchored the defense. For the Blaze, Andy Hsu and Patrick Riccardi were solid in the midfield while Joey VanVeen (striker) and Vinny Brophy (defense) played well

Kings 3, Silver Hawks 1 – Nick Gerbo, Connor Quinn and Thomas Capozziello each scored a goal to lead the Kings to their second victory this season. Keegan Lombard had a strong game and helped with an assist. For the Silver Hawk’s, Kevin Dennis scored the goal after a strong drive. Stephen Ibanez played well in offense, Chris Miller played well in defense and Robbie Beier was strong in goal.

Tigersharks 2, Supersonics 0 – The Tigersharks broke a 0-0 halftime tie with goals by Matt Datin and Weston Tardie. Thomas Healy assisted with both goals. Tarren Horvath played well on defense. For the ‘Sonics, Nathan Norwich and Tom Bernath both had strong games on defense and Marcus Toms powered the offense.

Girls E

Hawks 2, Terminators 1 – Kelsey Karp scored twice, lifting the Hawks to the win. Jillian Thompson, Isabel Gleason and Katie Shirley played outstanding games. Justina Paproski scored the Terminator’s goal while Kerry Chernoff, Morgan Kirol and Rachel Gregoire played well.

The Funky Monkeys 1, Dynamite 0 – Dana Bowers scored the lone goal off an assist from Katherine Scott to lead the Monkeys to the win. Katie Cummins and Jessica McDonald played well in goal. For the Dynamite, Caroline Lawrence, Matilda Dean, Alexandrea Grant and Abby Doski played well.

Lightening Feet 2, Cheetahs 0 – Dani Villa and Hannah Maret scored a goal each, both assisted by Molly Sheluck, to lead the Feet to the win. Julianna Scaffina and Sarah McMahon combined in goal for the shutout. Jessica Haitz, Cortney Becket and Emily Kopcik played well for the Cheetahs to keep the game close.

Girls F

Shockers 4, Cheetah Champions 0 – Bridget Power scored two goals while Ellyn Gordon and Taylor Brady each scored a goal to lead the Shockers. Catherine Neave played well on defense. For the Cheetah Champions, Lyndsey Pearlman and Dale Shearin played well on offense and Aileen Sheluck and Julie LaPerch played well on defense.

Huskies 5, Tornadoes 3 – Meaghan Harkins, Amy Martin, Brittany Tolla and Rachel Karnoff scored for the Huskies. Katie McManus led the Tornadoes.

Shooting Stars 2, Thunder 2 – Sophie Johnston and Maddy Good scored the goals that lifted the Stars to the win.  Claire Alexander contributed strong offense while Brittany Heck helped out on the defensive end. Kristiana Engler scored both goals for Thunder. Maria Biondi and Kiera Elkow both had solid games on defense.

Cheetahs 3, Nighthawks 0 – Tressa Scott scored two goals and Kristen DeGirolamo scored one to lead the Cheetahs. Sydney Hansen, Shannon O’Gorman, and Erica Schulz played very well on both sides of the ball. For the Nighthawks, Courtney Campbell played well in goal as Trisha Sullivan, Erica Peters and Haley Cobb had fine efforts.

Boys F

Roadrunners 3, Raging Rams 1 – Sean Watkins and Christian Mather combined for three goals to lead the Roadrunners to the win. Patrick Pierce and Niles Wilson had fine games. For the Rams, Tommy Gleason scored the lone goal as Thomas Giarvantano, Colin Dutt and Sam Boland had strong performances.

Lightening Bolts 4, Raptors 2 – Joe Davis scored twice and Danny Bittman and Devin Dinicola scored once each to lead the Bolts to the win. Matthew Austin had a good game in defense and Wesley Morlock had an outstanding game in both offense and defense. For the Raptors, Sean Elliott scored both goals with Ryan Coe and Austin Roftory having solid games in defense.

Metrostars 2, Bombers 0 – Michael Schartenberg scored both goals to lift the Metrostars. Nicholas Strokis played well on offense. Alec Lockhart and Jordan Sock had strong defense games. For the Bombers, Harry Solaski and Rob Linden had solid offensive performances. Jonathan Witten excelled on defense.

Monsters 4, Tornadoes 1 – Gabriel Keogler scored two goals and Francis Saraceni and Michael Senf tallied one each to lead the Monsters to the win. Scott Kelley turned in a solid performance. Ricky Kerins scored the lone Tornadoes goal, backed up with strong play by Matthew Baldino and Jon Sherman.

Thunderbolts 3, White Lightning 3 – Frederik Dean scored two goals and Patrick Thornberg added one for the Thunderbolts. Henry Summ and Ryan Pisani played strong on the offense and defensive ends of the field. For the Lightning, Nick Klein scored twice and Jacob Moore scored once. Knute Johnson played well as Taite Mansfield anchored the defense.

Boys U11

Strikers 5, New Milford 1 – Kyle Moore scored three goals while Eric Thornberg and Kai Aschick scored one apiece to lead the Strikers to the win. Thornberg, Daniel Lynch and Kyle Wildman all had assists. Tony Vacaro played well on defense while Aaron Nezvesky and Daniel Hufziger both made strong offensive plays during the game.

Woodbury-Bethlehem 4, Strikers 3 – Kyle Moore scored twice and Kai Aschick scored once, but the Strikers fell. Nick Wright and Kyle Wildman had assists. Michael Gould, Max Brazo and Josh Engler played well on defense as Ryan Pasko and Patrick Fay made some excellent offensive moves during the game.

Girls U11

Roadrunners 3, Winsted 2 – Ali Pliszka, Emma Kingsley and Kaitlin Brophy all scored to lead the Roadrunners to the win. Sarah Attanasio, Becca Castegner and Lauren Meyer played great games on offense, keeping constant pressure on the Winsted goal. Kelly O’Conner and Jill Jagoe had solid games at midfield.

Girls U12

Rampage 4, Maine Metro FC 0 – Laura Bittman scored two goals (one off a penalty kick) and Sara Kelley added two more to lead the Rampage to the win. Kristen Tanner and Taylor Smith registered assists to spark the offense while Kate Bowen and Berenice Bryant combined in the goal for the shutout.

Farmington 3, Rampage 2 – Laura Bittman scored two goals, but Newtown fell to Farmington. Caleigh Boyle, Laetitia de Brantes, Hannah Basch-Gould and Kirsten Hudock played well at midfield while Susan Mason played well and supplied the offensive pressure at forward.

Rampage 3, Glastonbury 0 – Kate Bowen scored two goals while Sara Kelley netted one to lead Newtown to victory. Laura Bittman and Jennifer Dailey registered assists while Caleigh Boyle had an outstanding game controlling midfield play. Goalie Katie Pessin made six saves.

Rampage 1, Berlin 1 – Sara Kelley scored the lone Newtown goal off a perfectly played ball by midfielder Laetitia de Brantes, but the Rampage would have to settle for a tie. Taylor Smith played strong at midfield and battled to win many balls for Newtown. Goalie Katie Pessin made six saves for the Rampage.

Girls U14

Hurricanes 4, Litchfield 1 – Colleen Thornberg scored two goals while Haley Keane and Genna Scheuerell scored one apiece to lead the ‘Canes to the win. Adelle Cerreta (who also contributed an assist), Emily Weber and goalie Emily Kluga turned in fine defensive performances

Hurricanes 1, Navigators 0 – Two very evenly matched teams opened the spring season and battled for 80 minutes with the game being decided by a deflected goal for the Hurricanes. Kendra O’Connor, Ashley Braun and Emily Lockhart had outstanding games for the ‘Gators. Goalkeeper Katie Power blocked numerous shots on goal. Katie Kirrane and Lauren Hebert both had strong games.

Watertown 4, Navigators 1 – Jacqui Kirol scored the lone Newtown goal off an assist from Harriet Morgan. Marina Virgalla and Genna Scheuerell played well.

Brookfield Azul 2, Navigators 0 – Christie Attanasio, Jackie Petrasanta, Kendra O’Connor and Claire Ober played well on defense to lead the ‘Gators. Alana Bilangi stamped her authority in midfield and Katie Power made numerous good saves for the ‘Gators.
