Girls’ Lacrosse Tag Sale

The Newtown High School girls’ lacrosse team will hold its annual fundraising tag sale on Saturday, May 8, from 9 am to 3 pm, at the Newtown Middle School (right on the horseshoe). There will be something for everyone! Come support the team.

 

Weeknight Slo-Pitch

The Newtown Weeknite Men’s Slo-Pitch Softball League is asking managers of teams interested in participating to call Chris Dennis at 770-1824 (managers who have already contacted him are asked to contact him again because of some lost information). There will be a league meeting at the end of May.

Pop Warner Signups

The Newtown Pop Warner Football/Cheerleading program will hold registrations for the 2004 season on Saturday, May 8, from 9 am to 12 noon, in the Newtown High School cafeteria. Pop Warner will feature a new Mitey-Mite Division, with a minimum age of 7 and a minimum weight of 45 pounds. For football questions, call Mike McNamara at 364-1690. Westconn Basketball Camp

The Western Connecticut State University girls’ basketball camp will be held from July 5 through July 9, 9 am to 3:30 pm each day, at the O’Neill Center. Open to players ages 8 to 17. Call head coach Kim Rybczyk at 1-203-837-9018 or email her at rybczykk@wcsu.edu for info.

Namath/Dockery Camp

The Joe Namath/John Dockery Football Camp will run from June 27 through July 2 at Nichols College in Dudley, Massachusetts. National Football League players expected to participate include Anthony Becht and Kareem McKenzie of the Jets; Wayne Lucier and Dhani Jones of the Giants; Damon Huard, Antwan Harris and Deion Branch of the Patriots.The camp is open to players ages 8 to 18. Quarterback Camp

Complete QB will be conducting a two-day Quarterback Development Camp at Notre Dame Catholic High School in Fairfield Tuesday and Wednesday, June 29-30. Quarterbacks in grades 5 through 12 attending the camp are provided with outstanding instruction in a quarterbacks-only environment. There will also be a free quarterback development clinic – open to all attending coaches – to be held after the second practice on June 30.
