Cultural Arts Commission Looking Forward To Arts Festival With Past & Current Posters Display

Newtown Cultural Arts Commission (NCAC) Chair Laura Lerman spent time at the Newtown Municipal Center this week, putting on view a collection of Newtown Arts Festival posters. The posters date from as far back as 2012, the first year of the NCAC event, and include the introduction of this year’s design. They will remain on display in the main corridor of the Municipal Center, 3 Primrose Street, weekdays, until at least May 14, Lerman said.

The illustration done for the 2020 Newtown Art Festival has been carried over to this year’s event. “Nancy Cole did this design for us last year, but then the festival was canceled” due to the pandemic, NCAC Chair Laura Lerman said May 3. “When we rescheduled for this year, we decided to stay with her graphic.” Its inclusion in the new exhibition at Newtown Municipal Center represents the design’s first public display.
