Elections Have Consequences VII

To the Editor:

Being ignorant and arrogant is a dangerous combination, especially if you have an oversized narcistic personality but that’s what we have with Trump. He believes that he alone runs the country and now the world. He had no problem with an AI generated photo of himself as pope being sent out on a government account. He has taken an oath to uphold the constitution twice but is not sure if he must follow it himself.

He appointed himself as the head of the Kennedy Center and believes it is within his power to dictate to universities, law firms, businesses and the media on how they should operate and pay homage to him.

At one time the republican orthodoxy was to “get government out of people’s lives.” Now it looks like they think the government should control every aspect of it.

There is talk of the military spending an estimated $45 million on a parade to celebrate the Army’s 250-year anniversary that just happens to be on Trump’s birthday. Trump also believes that the White House needs a big, beautiful ball room. He claims that he will fund this himself which really means he is going to hit up his rich friends and anyone he believes “owes him”. One thing we can be sure of is that it will be the usual gaudy gold décor that Trump believes shows good taste.

The Trump family is raking in billions with their meme coins and real estate deals and has no problem with foreign investments in these money-making schemes. During his first term there were violations of the emoluments clause but this time around they aren’t even being subtle about it.

In a “let them eat cake” statement, Trump talked about kids only getting two dolls instead of 30 for Christmas. Maybe the Trump girls got 30 dolls for Christmas but no one I grew up with did. He talks about people having to deal with short term pain with the promise of ultimately having the best economy ever in the history of the world.

You can be sure of one thing – none of the Trump friends and family will be the ones doing the suffering that will be caused by the Trump Tariff Tax.

109 days down, 1352 to go.
