Newtown High School’s tennis teams posted wins to close out April and begin May.

The girls beat Bunnell of Stratford 7-0 in Newtown on April 30. The teams played pro sets and the Nighthawks got singles wins from Emily Anderson (8-0), Sophia Dutsar (8-2), Jamie Rowan (8-0), and Maria Souza (8-2); and doubles victories from Reese Lischuk and Eli Musen (8-3), Molly Tinkler and Ella Romano (8-1), and Rebecca Goldman and Caliegh Ward (8-0).

The Nighthawk boys beat host Bunnell 6-1 on April 30 and host Immaculate of Danbury 7-0 on May 2. Singles winners versus Immaculate: No. 1 A.J. Singh 6-0, 6-1, No. 2 Frankie Cannizzo 6-0, 6-0, No. 4 forfeit; doubles winners: No. 1 Theo Anderson and Liam Conlon 6-0, 6-0, No. 2 and No. 3 won by forfeit.

Against Bunnell, singles winners were No. 2 Conlin 6-0, 6-4. No. 3 Brody Paulsen 6-0, 6-0, and No. 4 Ryan Hislop 6-0, 6-0; doubles winners were No. 1 George Eppers and Cam Linnetz 6-0, 6-0; and No. 2 and No. 3 won by forfeit.
