Susan Bradley

Susan Ella Bradley, 92, of Danbury, formerly a 50-year Newtown resident, died  May 9 at Glen Hill in Danbury. Born in Pawling, N.Y., she was a daughter of the late Ralph L. and Susan Ann Greenan Bradley.

In Ms Bradley's younger years, she was an accomplished dancer and belonged to the first USO troop to tour the Pacific during World War II. She performed for the troops in the Gilbert, Carolina, and Marshall Islands.

After the war years, she opened the Ella Bradley Professional School of Danbury and resided in Westchester County, N.Y.

Her love of dogs, especially poodles, led her to a career as a professional dog groomer in New York and Connecticut.

Ms Bradley was an active volunteer at the Senior Center in Danbury.

Survivors include her dear friend, Mary DeVasto, with whom she lived with for many years.

Deepest gratitude to the caregivers of Glen Hill Care Center in Danbury for the excellent care given to Ms Bradley during her final illness.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Friday, May 12, at St Rose of Lima Church, Newtown. Burial will be in Beechwood Cemetery, New Rochelle, N.Y., at the convenience of the family.

Contributions in Ms Bradley's memory may be made to the Newtown Animal Control Shelter, 21 Old Farm Road, Newtown CT 06470.
