Final Performance With GBYO

BRIDGEPORT — Newtown violinist David Wilkins, and Sandy Hook clarinetist Joshua Fintz will perform their final concert as members of The Greater Bridgeport Youth Orchestras on Sunday, May 20. The concert will begin at 3 pm at the Arnold Bernhardt Center, on the campus of the University of Bridgeport. Both young men are members of the GBYO Principal Orchestra and are also seniors at Newtown High School.

The concert will also mark the final concert for GBYO Music Director Robert Genualdi. Mr Genualdi was appointed Music Director in 1980 and is retiring at the end of the 2006-07 season.

All four orchestras of the GBYO, which includes 270 student musicians from 30 communities in Fairfield and New Haven counties, will perform works by Tchaikovsky, Bizet, Brahms Schubert, Wagner, Smetana, Lalo and Gershwin.

Tickets will be available at the door and are $12 for adults, $10 for students and seniors. A reception will follow the concert.
