Into The Bushes
Motorist Angel Erreyes, 30, of Danbury was driving a Toyota Celica southward on Rock Ridge Road in Dodgingtown at about 6:38 am on May 3, when the vehicle went off the right road shoulder near 29 Rock Ridge Road and struck some bushes, police report.
Erreyes was not injured. Police issued Erreyes an infraction for making a restricted turn and for driving without a license.

Reckless Driving
Police charged two men with reckless driving following an incident on Sugar Street (Route 302) on the night of April 27.
Police said they observed two eastbound vehicles being driven by the men near 75-83 Sugar Street traveling âat speeds that endangered the public.â
Police charged Justin Elander, 34, of 254 Berkshire Road (Route 34) and also charged Michael Calorossi, 39, of 11 Lone Oak Meadow Road.
Following the incident, police released each man on written promises to appear on May 15 in Danbury Superior Court to face a judge on the charges.
DUI Warrant
After learning that police held a warrant for his arrest, Kyle McCarthy, 19, of 12 Elana Lane went to the police station on the afternoon of May 4 and was arrested on charges of driving under the influence, illegal possession of alcohol by a minor, and making a restricted turn, police said.
Police said the charges stem from a motor vehicle accident that ocurred last November 5 on Berkshire Road (Route 34) near High Rock Road.
After processing, police released McCarthy from custody on $500 bail for a May 23 arraignment on the charges in Danbury Superior Court.
Intersection Crash
About 4:40 pm on April 30, motorist Heather Rodriguez, 45, of 6 Meadow Road, who was driving a 2001 Saab 9-5 station wagon eastward on Sugar Street at its four-way intersection with Main Street, Glover Avenue, and South Main Street, struck the rear end of a 2008 Dodge Nitro SUV that was being driven eastward on Sugar Street by Edward Shanley, 72, of 7 Little Brook Lane, police said.
There were no injuries. Police said they verbally warned Rodriguez for following too closely.
Church Hill Violations
Police report that they spotted John Thomas Gill III, 25, of 10 Maple Drive talking on a handheld cellphone while driving out of the driveway at Newtown Mobil, a gas station and convenience store at 62 Church Hill Road, at about 4:30 pm on May 4, so they stopped Gill to investigate.
Police said they charged Gill with illegal use of a handheld cellphone while driving and with driving with a suspended license.
Gill was released on a written promise to appear in court on May 23, according to police.
Honda Vs Toyota
A two-vehicle accident occurred at the intersection of South Main Street, Mile Hill Road, and Country Club Road at about 3 pm on May 5.
Motorist Darren Cesca, 31, of Naugatuck, who was driving a 2005 Toyota Camry sedan northward on South Main Street, stopped in preparing to make a left turn onto Country Club Road, police said.
Motorist Lesley Blume, 19, of 20 Rock Ridge Road, who was driving a 2004 Honda Civic sedan, then made right turn from westbound Mile Hill Road onto northbound South Main Street, but the Honda struck the rear end of the Toyota, police said.
There were no injuries. Blume received a written warning for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart, police said.
Finger Rings
Police report that they are still holding for safekeeping two silver-colored, metallic finger rings that were found on April 7 at Treadwell Park on Philo Curtis Road in Sandy Hook. The rings were found in the general vicinity of the parkâs entrance.
The owner or owners may claim the rings by contacting either Officer Matthew Hayes or Sergeant Douglas Wisentaner at the police at 3 Main Street, telephone 203-426-5841.
Highway DUI
State police report that they received some 911 telephone calls reporting that an erratic driver was traveling on eastbound Interstate 84 at about 11:58 pm on April 27, so they went to the area to find the driver in question.
State police said that after finding the vehicle, which bore the marker plate number that they had received, they stopped motorist Ellen Silk, 45, of Southbury to investigate.
State police said they charged Silk with driving under the influence and with failure to drive in the proper lane.
Following processing, Silk was released on $1,000 bail for a May 14 court appearance, state police report.
Interstate DUI
A two-vehicle accident occurred on westbound Interstate 84, east of Exit 10, about 10:46 am on April 28, state police said.
The accident involved motorist Erika Potenziani, 32, of Danbury, who was driving a 2001 Ford Taurus that struck a 2002 Honda Accord driven by a Manchester woman, state police said. There were no injuries.
State police said they charged Potenziani with driving under the influence, making an unsafe lane change, and failure to carry a valid automotive insurance identification card. Court information was not available.
SUV Vs Sedan
Motorist Erich Reichert, 36, of Southbury, who was driving a 2004 Mazda 6 sedan eastward on Interstate 84, about 500 feet east of Exit 11 at about 4:15 pm on April 2, slowed for traffic conditions and was then struck from behind by eastbound motorist Rodney Ney, 46, of Watertown, who was driving a 2011 Nissan Rogue SUV, state police said.
There were no injuries. Enforcement information was not available.
Barnabas Road
Police learned late on the morning of May 5 about a motor vehicle accident that had occurred about 10 am that day in the parking lot in front of the post office at 23 Barnabas Road in Hawleyville.
Police said they are seeking the female driver of a tan or brown sedan who was involved in an accident and then left the scene without reporting it. That sedan would have rear bumper damage.
The offender had been parked in front of the post office before the accident occurred.
Police ask persons with knowledge of the incident to contact Officer Matthew Hayes at the police station at 203-426-5841.
Shelton Man
During a seatbelt enforcement project at Exit 11 of Interstate 84 at about 1:08 pm on May 7, police stopped motorist Joseph Demarco 24, of Shelton for not wearing a seatbelt.
Police said they charged Shelton with failure to wear a seatbelt and driving with a suspended license.
Police released Demarco on $100 bail for a May 17 court appearance.
Sand Hill Plaza
About 11:30 am on May 7, motorist Dorothy Kroha, 79, of Danbury was maneuvering a 2012 Ford Focus station wagon into a parking space at Sand Hill Plaza at 228 South Main Street, but then sideswiped a parked, unoccupied 2010 Saab 9-3 sedan, police said.
Kroha was not injured. Police took no enforcement.
Shoplifting
Police said they received a report about 2:30 pm on May 4 that store security staff at the Big Y supermarket at Newtown Shopping Village at 6 Queen Street had a suspected shoplifter in custody, so police went there to investigate.
Police said they charged a boy under age 18 with sixth-degree larceny for allegedly stealing merchandise from the store.
Police released the boy into the custody of his mother for a May 21 court appearance. State law shields the identity of people under age 18 who arrested on criminal charges.
Unsafe Passing
Police report a two-vehicle accident on Berkshire Road, near its intersection with Lone Oak Meadow Road, at about 9:48 pm on May 6.
The accident involved motorist Patrick Hanrahan, 47, of Danbury, who was driving a 2005 Subaru Impreza station wagon, and motorist Nikoletta Topkas, 32, of Norwalk, who was driving a 2001 Ford Taurus sedan, police said.
In that incident, the Subaru attempted to pass the Ford as the Ford was attempting to make a turn, resulting in a collision, police said.
There were no injuries. Police said they issued Hanrahan a written warning for unsafe passing.
Truck Hits Tree
Police said that driver Robert Colburn, 63, of New Milford was driving a Kenworth truck eastward on Berkshire Road, near its intersection with Stone Bridge Trail, at about 4:27 am on May 9, when the truck crossed over the center line of the road, went off the westbound road shoulder and then struck a tree.
The vehicle that Colburn was driving was tractor-trailer truck whose trailer was a tanker which was empty, police said.
Colburn was transported to Danbury Hospital to be evaluated for possible injuries, police said. Sandy Hook volunteer firefighters responded to the incident. Police said the accident is under investigation.
