Liberal Media Twists The News
Liberal Media Twists The News
To the Editor:
In last weekâs letter section, [âFear Mongering,â Letter Hive, 5/4/12], Mr Reda, stated, he was saddened to see his favorite newspaper allowing access to right wing fear mongers as myself and Ms Hibbard. So far Mr Reda you have made references to your fellow Newtowners as misinformed, dysfunctional and now, right wing fear mongers.
In my previous letter to the editor, I wrote about the Martin and Woodfork cases and stated quite clearly that we do not know the facts to either story. These are two stories that highlight one of the many problems that exist in our society and yes, double standards do exist. You stated, âComparing the senseless stalking and shooting of an unarmed boy to the rape and murder of an elderly woman and then attempting to accuse the public of a double standard is unacceptable to any reasonable mind.â The liberal media plays a significant role in twisting what is reported, guiding public opinion.
The Gallup Organization reports âthat 57 percent of Americans say they have little or no trust in the mass media to report the news fully, accurately, and fairly.â That is in itself a sad commentary. A principle of justice is impartiality and a double standard violates that principle. The liberal media has violated that principle using the double standard to politicize this tragedy. NBC aired an altered 911 recording between Mr Zimmerman and the dispatcher. Draw your own conclusion as to why it was edited! Shortly after it was aired, NBC fired the producer responsible for the deception. You stated, âTo draw any comparison is in itself an act of racism.â Those are pretty strong words. Let me enlighten you Mr Reda, there are many in the âpublicâ that donât have reasonable minds.
