Waldorf School Annual May Fair

With a Maypole set up behind Housatonic Valley Waldorf School on Friday, May 4, the school community gathered to mark its 21st Annual May Fair at the school.

Carrying on the traditions of Maypole and Morris & Sword dances, Patricia Campbell directed students at the Housatonic Valley Waldorf School in weaving Maypole ribbon patterns and performing stick and sword dances. Fran Hendrickson provided music.

Students from the school’s early childhood classes through seventh grade participated in the event.

Teachers led the opening song, “Hal n’ Tow,” for the day, and together the school community sang, “We were up long before the day, O, to welcome in the summer sun, to welcome in the May, O.”
