ETH Releases Drive-In Schedule And More
Edmond Town Hall is bringing back the community-loved drive-in theater in the back parking lot located at 45 Main Street. The movies begin at dusk on Friday and Saturday nights, and the cost is $20 per car. Concessions will be sold during the films, too.
The opening weekend, June 6 and June 7, will show the 1982 family/sci-fi movie E.T. the Extra Terrestrial. Friday June 13, and Saturday, June 14, will show the 1980 horror film Friday the 13th. Parents, keep in mind that this film is rated R.
Grease, the 1978 musical comedy, will screen the next weekend, June 20 and 21.
On June 27 and 28, the 1989 comedy/sport movie, Major League, will play. This movie is also rated R — plan accordingly.
The 1984 comedy horror film, Ghostbusters, will screen on July 11 and 12.
Carrie, the horror/mystery rated R film, will screen on July 25 and 26. The Big Lebowski, a 1998 comedy crime film, also rated R, will kick off August 8 and 9.
On August 15 and 16, the 1977 sci-fi thriller film, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, will play. The Neverending Story, a 1984 family/fantasy movie, will screen the following weekend on August 22 and 23.
The final movie Edmond Town Hall will show on August 29 and 30 for the drive-in season will be the 1987 romance film Dirty Dancing.
Live Comedy, Concerts, And Camps
Edmond Town Hall hosts a variety of events, including a night of comedy with Michael Kosta. Kosta is on his Lucky Loser Tour and will be making a stop in Newtown on Friday, May 16, 8 pm. Tickets are $35. Joe Gerics will also perform some stand-up that evening.
Jason Salmon will be visiting Edmond Town Hall on Saturday, June 7. Tickets are $25. Salmon is a stand-up comic and has appeared in commercials for GEICO, Toyota, and has appeared in Orange is the New Black.
Later in the summer, Edmond Town Hall will continue its Family Series with Taylorville on Thursday, August 21. Taylorville is a tribute band that takes audience members on a journey through Taylor Swift’s extensive music career. Tickets are on sale now and are $50 for balcony seats and $60 for orchestra seats.
For parents looking to get their kids into a summer camp, Edmond Town Hall is hosting several culinary and baking camps throughout the summer. Registration is open now for all three camps: Culinary Camp with Chef Kristyn; Cake Decorating Camp with Chef Ashley; and Baking Sweet Camp with Chef Cheryl.
All three camps offer sessions for ages seven to 10 and 11 to 13. Culinary Camp runs June 30 to July 3 and July 21-25. Cake Decorating Camp runs June 23 to 27 and July 14 to 18. Baking Sweet Camp runs July 28 to August 1 and August 11-15.
