The Budget Is A Serious Matter
The Budget Is A Serious Matter
To the Editor:
Yes, Mr Rosenthal, serious reductions do have to be made to the proposed budget. After the first trivial attempt of offering the voters a $750,000 reduction was rejected, it seems that its time to play hardball and get this proposed budget down to where it belongs, four percent less. Yes, it is serious business when we see more and more of our longtime and respected citizens leaving town due to runaway taxes. Yes, it is serious business and the town administration has to face up to this dilemma. They got us into this mess, now they have to get us out of it. There are no sacred cows, town administration and Board of Education alike have to share in this effort. So letâs get it right this time and listen to your voters.
