Professional Researcher On The 1940 Census At Booth Library May 23
Professional researcher and club member Toni McKeen will be the guest speaker of Newtown Genealogy Club at 7 pm on Wednesday, May 23, at C.H. Booth Library.
Due to a scheduling conflict at the library, this is a change of date from the clubâs usual second Wednesday of the month meeting schedule.
Ms McKeenâs topic for the evening will be âHow to Find Relatives in The 1940 Census.â Toni McKeen is well known in the area as a teacher of multiple courses in genealogy at Foundersâ Hall in Ridgefield. An avid traveler, she has explored Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Her special love, however, is Italy where she has done extensive onsite genealogical research.
Ms McKeen has been researching her own family tree for more than 25 years and uses her expertise in Photoshop to maintain a family website. In addition to her teaching at Foundersâ Hall, she gives lectures in Connecticut, New Jersey, Westchester County, and Long Island, N.Y.
Newtown Genealogy Club is open to anyone interested in genealogical research, and it supports the efforts of Booth Library and assists in the upkeep of the libraryâs genealogy room and extensive collection. Nonmembers are always welcome at the lectures, which always include a question and answer session.
The library is at 25 Main Street.
Next monthâs meeting will also be a change of date to the first Wednesday of the month â June 6 â due to a scheduling conflict for the libraryâs meeting room. The speaker is to be announced.
