SUV Off Road
Motorist Daniel OâConnor, 20, of 8 Old Farm Hill Road, who was driving a 2001 Toyota Highlander SUV eastward about 4:15 am on May 7, went off the left side of the street near 3 Old Farm Hill Road, police report.
The SUV struck some guardcabling. Police said that OâConnor told them that he had looked downward at a cellphone and then drove off the pavement.
OâConnor was not injured. Police said they issued him an infraction listing charges of driving an unregistered motor vehicle, failure to drive to the right, and failure to carry an automotive insurance identification card.
Nine Charges
Police report they saw a motorist violate several laws, leading them to charge her with nine vehicular violations at about 1 pm on May 8.
Police said they spotted motorist Danielle Libor, 29, of 56 Walnut Tree Hill Road driving a 1994 Ford vehicle northward on Walnut Tree Hill Road while speaking on a handheld cellphone. Libor then drove past a stop sign without stopping at the intersection of Walnut Tree Hill Road and Old Green Road, police said. Libor than drove over the roadâs centerline while negotiating a curve, police said.
Police said they stopped Libor near 52 Walnut Tree Hill Road to investigate.
Police said they charged Libor with driving with a suspended license, driving an unregistered vehicle, driving without automotive insurance, misuse of marker plates, illegal use of a handheld cellphone while driving, failure to obey a stop sign, failure to keep to the right on a curve, driving with a defective automotive windshield, and failure to notify the state Department of Motor Vehicles of an address change.
Police released Libor on $200 bail for a May 22 court appearance.
Highway Accident
A two-vehicle accident occurred on eastbound Interstate 84 in the area between the off-ramp and the on-ramp for Exit 11 at about 6 pm on May 8, state police report.
Motorist John Neisser, 48, of Southbury, who was driving a 2012 Ford Escape, slowed for traffic conditions and was then struck from behind by eastbound motorist Amanda Windischman, 22, of Cheshire, who was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt, said police said.
There were no injuries. Windischman received a written warning for following too closely, state police said.

Two Men Charged
Police report that after learning that police held warrants for their arrests, two local men turned themselves over to police at the police station and were arrested on charges stemming from an incident that occurred in mid-January at Newtown Youth Academy, a privately owned recreational sports complex at Fairfield Hills.
Police said that Robert Manfredonia, 46, of 20 Turkey Hill Terrace turned himself in at the police station about 10 pm on May 8, and was charged with second-degree breach of peace and with harassment in connection with a verbal dispute at the sports complex and also in connection with some text messages that he had transmitted on February 17.
Police said that Josh Glassman, 43, of 1 Buck Trail turned himself in at the police station about 5 pm on May 9, and was charged with sixth-degree larceny, second-degree breach of peace, and with threatening. Those charges were lodged in connection with the January verbal dispute at the sports complex and also in connection with an October 30, 2011, incident in which Glassman allegedly took possession of another personâs cellphone and did not return it, police said.
Following their processing at the police station, each man was released on a written promise to appear in Danbury Superior Court, according to police. Manfredoniaâs court date is May 24 and Glassmanâs court date is May 23, police said.
Moving Violations
Police report that they spotted a white 1996 BMW 328 convertible traveling southward on Elm Drive on the evening of May 9 and knew that the vehicle had a suspended registration, so they stopped its driver to investigate.
Police said they then charged motorist William Bruno, 42, of 1 Borough Lane with driving with a suspended vehicle registration and with driving without automotive insurance.
Police report they released Bruno on a written promise to appear on May 23 in Danbury Superior Court.
Dodgingtown
Incident
Police report that at about 4:30 pm on May 10, an unknown person was driving a Peterbilt truck owned by a Danbury firm, southeastward in the middle of Jacklin Road, near the Bethel town line.
At that time, a Bethel woman was driving a 2009 Mini Cooper auto northwestward on Jacklin Road, police said.
The Mini Cooper driver then swerved to the right to avoid a collision with the truck, but the Mini Cooper went off the right side of the road, striking some curbing and a tree branch, police said. The two vehicles did not strike each other.
The woman was not injured, but the Mini Cooper was damaged, police said. Police are investigating and ask any witnesses to the incident to contact them at the police station at 3 Main Street, telephone 203-426-5841.
Truck Into Tree
About 3:20 am on May 12, motorist Karl W. Sieling, Jr, 21, of 22 Chestnut Hill Road was driving a 2005 Ford F-350 pickup truck on Lakeview Terrace, near Lakeview Terrace Extension, and then swerved to the left in order to avoid striking a deer on the road, police report.
The truck, however, went off the road and struck a tree, police said. Sieling was not injured.
Police said they issued Sieling a written warning for failure to drive to the right.
Boggs Hill DUI
Police said motorist Michael French, 44, of 149 Boggs Hill Road was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck eastward on Boggs Hill Road, near its intersection with Dover Circle, at about 2 pm on May 14, when the truck crossed over into the westbound lane and then went off the westbound road shoulder and traveled down an embankment, coming to rest atop a pile of rocks. There were no injuries.
Police said that following an investigation, they charged French with driving under the influence and with failure to drive to the right.
Police said they released French on $100 bail for a May 30 court appearance.
Wasserman Way
Police report a two-vehicle accident on eastbound Wasserman Way, near Oakview Road, at about 6:14 pm on May 14.
In that incident, motorist Heather Barresi, 36, of 6 Walker Hill Road, who was driving a 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan minivan, struck the rear end of a 2009 Chevrolet K-15 SUV driven by Denise Romano, 43, of 7 Sugarloaf Road, police report.
There were no injuries. Police said they issued Barresi a written warning for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.
Four-Way Intersection
Police report a two-vehicle accident at the four-way intersection of Key Rock Road, Hattertown Road, and Poverty Hollow Road about 5:30 pm on May 11.
In that incident, motorist Michael Lally, 56, of 30 Poverty Hollow Road was driving a 2001 Volkswagen Passat southward on Key Rock Road and then stopped at a stop sign at the four-way intersection, police said.
Motorist Tammy Brown, 45, of 49 Lakeview Terrace, who was driving a 2007 Honda Accord southward on Key Rock Road, then struck the rear end of the Volkswagen, police said.
There were no injuries. Police said they issued Brown a written warning for following too closely.
