Newtown High School's softball team New Milford 2-0 in the South-West Conference Tournament semifinals, at Stratford's DeLuca Field, on May 20.

With the win the No. 3 Nighthawks will take on No. 1 Masuk of Monroe in the Wednesday, May 22, title game; first pitch at DeLuca is set for 7 pm.

In the win over New Milford Addy Cordova struck out six batters and allowed just three hits and no walks. She made a two-run first inning stand up with help from solid fielding as Newtown played error-free ball.

Cordova had an RBI single to score Bri Pellicone (who had walked). Maddie Thoesen also scored the other run as a result of New Milford error.
