ANTIQUES FAIR OPENS IN GREAT NECK, N.Y. , JUNE 3 Pekale w/2 cuts

GREAT NECK, L.I., N.Y. — On Sunday, June 3, for the 20th consecutive year, the United Community Fund (UCF) in cooperation with the Village of Great Neck Plaza will hold its annual antiques show and sale.

Promoted by Elias Pekale Shows Ltd, the show takes place in the commuter parking lot, corner of Grace Avenue and Bond Street.

This year’s fair will feature dealers from across New York State and the Northeast, featuring “quality antiques at affordable cost.” Among the more than 80 exhibitors are Richard Mattson, bringing formal Nineteenth Century furniture; Jo-Ellen Finnie of New Rochelle, N.Y., country; Janis Petrovich Antiques with garden accessories; early phonographs by James Pollock; Vintage with a Twist from Bedford, N.Y., ladies’ smalls and clothing. Southwestern jewelry will be shown by Jody and Jackie of Phoenix and Tucson, Ariz.; and offering painted porcelain is Andrea Meyers.

Other dealers exhibiting include Charles Huttunen with first covers, Long Island maps and postcards and ephemera; Harry and Ginny, American art pottery, lady’s head vases, enamelware and garden items; Fond Memories is displaying decorative vintage lighting and Depression glass. Collectibles, toys, linens, iron workings, old tools and gentlemen’s sport items will also be offered.

Early buying is from 8 to 9 am for $10. General admission is from 9 am to 4 pm at $5. Discount tickets are available in various local shops in Great Neck and the surrounding towns.
