During the Newtown Nonprofit Council’s (NNC) virtual meeting on May 16, C.H. Booth Library Director Douglas Lord announced that reference librarian Lily MacHugh will be taking over the duties of running upcoming meetings.

The discussions were previously facilitated by C.H. Booth Library reference assistant and volunteer hub project coordinator Sarah Patafio.

Lord explained, “Sarah Patafio, who as a young and freshly minted master’s degree of library science, moved on and rightfully so. I was lucky to have her for a brief while and now I am lucky to have Lily MacHugh helping out with this effort.”

MacHugh said hello to everyone in attendance, which included multiple members of local nonprofits.

Lord complimented Patafio and MacHugh, saying that they are both “young people, massively talented, they’re going to be somebody, and this is a way station … it’s like watching a comet go by.”

The remainder of the meeting included the news and views from each nonprofit organization.

NNC meets on the third Monday of each month.
