Students lined up outside St Rose of Lima School on May 14 to wave pompoms, hold handmade signs, and cheer as parents and other supporters drove by for a special celebratory car parade.

St Rose Principal Bardhyl Gjoka said the school wanted to show its appreciation for its parent community; celebrate accomplishments from the school year, like demonstrated growth on standardized tests; and show support for the school educators who made the year possibly.

St Rose Director of Mission Advancement Laura Moulder said the event was also held to celebrate the success of the school year and all those who supported the school community, like parents, First Selectman Dan Rosenthal, and State Representative Mitch Bolinsky.

“Our spirit is still strong and alive,” Moulder said, as parents drove cars past the cheering students behind her.

Gjoka said the school community is already planning for the start of the 2021-22 school year.
