Garner Inmate Charged With Four Crimes

State police report that they arrested Garner Correctional Institution inmate David Bell, 25, on a warrant on May 17 at Danbury Superior Court, charging Bell with four crimes in connection with a January 29 incident at the state’s high-security prison at 50 Nunnawauk Road.

State police said they charged Bell with interfering with a peace officer, disorderly conduct, and with two counts of first-degree assault on a correction officer.

Bell was arraigned on those charges in court and is scheduled to return to court on June 7 to enter pleas.

Bell is serving an 85-year prison term in Garner on a murder conviction.
