You may drop in at the Senior Center weekdays between 9 am and 4 pm. A hot meal is served at noon, for which you must reserve three days in advance.
Newtown has daily door-to-door minibus service Monday through Friday. Buses also run all day from the Senior Center to Sand Hill Plaza. On Fridays, the bus alternates between rides to Danbury Fair Mall and Berkshire Plaza in Danbury (to Walmart Route 6). Cost is $1 each way for the Sand Hill Plaza trip. *On the third Monday of every month, there will be a bake sale from 9 to 10 am. We are looking for donations of baked goods to be brought in before that time.
*Tuesday, June 12, from 5 to 7 pm is game night.
*âEnd Stage Dementia and Hospiceâ is the Lunch and Learn Series topic for Friday, June 15, at noon. Learn how to identify significant symptoms of end-stage dementia and how hospice care can help. Lunch is provided; call to reserve.

*Bingo will be Wednesday, June 20, at 1 pm.
*Life Line Screening will be performing a day of preventive health screenings on June 22. These are fast, painless and offered at low cost. They involve ultrasound technology and scan for potential health problems related to blocked arteries that can lead to a stroke; aortic aneurysms that can lead to a rupture; and plaque buildup in the arteries in the legs, which is a strong predictor of heart disease. Appointments are limited and registration is required.
Day Trips
*A 40s Swing Dance Party at Villa Bianca will be Wednesday, June 13. An all-you-can-eat family-style luncheon, complimentary drink, live entertainment, music and dancing are all included for $29.95 per person. The van can accommodate 16 and will depart at 10:30 am, but you are welcome to carpool.
*Westchester Broadway Theater is presenting a luncheon and a matinee titled George M on Thursday, June 14. The play is based on the life of George M. Cohan. Depart on Thursday, June 14, at 9:45 am; cost is $90.
*On Monday, June 18, at the Grand Oak Villa, Oakville, comes the stage comedy, The Queen of Bingo, in the tradition of the Harvey Korman and Tim Conway sketches. The Queen of Bingo explores the world of Bingo, family ties, diet crazes, widowhood, hot flashes and winning! An appetizer and a family-style meal is included. Limited seating of 16. Depart at 10:30 am; cost is $59.
*On Tuesday, June 26, visit Mohonk Mountain House, New Paltz, N.Y., the âunspoiled resort,â a Victorian-style castle sitting lakeside, with 2,000-plus wooded acres and views galore. Have lunch at the Grand Buffet; enjoy a concert, music acts vary from classical to contemporary, Broadway to Big Band; stroll through the award-winning gardens; and visit Mohonk Barn Museum, one of the largest barns in the Northeast, built in 1888. Cost is $96; departure TBA.
