Michael McNamara, age 44, of Stamford, Connecticut, passed away May 19th. He attended Newtown High School and lived in Newtown for most of his life.

Mike was an animal lover, a skilled fisherman and had creative outlets like drawing and video games. He most enjoyed spending time with his children Jaiden (20) and Kayla (17). They will remember him for his laughter and his willingness to give when he was able to.

Mike was preceded in death by his mother Catherine Panucci McNamara. He is survived by his father Robert McNamara, sister Laura McNamara (husband Wayne Mead), sister Diane McNamara Gagne (husband Kevin Gagne), his two children Jaiden and Kayla, and three nieces.

Our family is grateful to know that Mike is at peace.

A graveside service will be held at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Greenwich, Connecticut on May 26th at 11 am for family and close friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation jdrf.org. This organization is working to combat a disease that Mike had lived with since childhood.

The Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, is serving the family.
