Marcelina Pereira, 89, of Southbury, died May 19 at her home. She was the widow of Manuel A. Pereira.
Mrs Pereira was born April 25, 1917, in Taunton, Mass., the daughter of Luis and Sylvana (Madeiros) Jeronimo.
She retired from the Fabric Fire Hose Co. of Sandy Hook and was a Newtown resident until moving to Southbury in 1999.
She was the beloved mother of Edna McVey of Southbury, with whom she made her home; and devoted grandmother to her three grandchildren, Sean P. McVey and wife, Olga, of St Albans, Vt., Tammy McVey-Camilleri and husband, Robert, of Southbury and Kelly C. Barry and husband, Joel, of West Hartford; and cherished great-grandmother to Alexandra Camilleri and Tyler Camilleri, both of Southbury and Jack Barry, of West Hartford. One brother and two sisters preceded her in death.
A funeral Mass was held May 22 at St Rose of Lima Church, Newtown. Burial was at St Rose Cemetery, Newtown.
