Thomas J. “Heff” Heffernan, 42, of New Fairfield, died May 26, at Danbury Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Yonkers, N.Y., he was the son of Patricia and John Heffernan of New Fairfield.

Besides his mother and father, he will be greatly missed by his five sisters and their husbands, Carolyn and Chad Turoczi Newtown, Maureen and Ricky Greco of Danbury, Eileen Heffernan of New Fairfield, Elizabeth and Mike Schirmer of Danbury, and Kathleen and Jason Robards of Danbury. Seven nieces and nephews also survive Mr Heffernan.

His hobbies included fast cars, motorcycles, and spending time with family and friends.

He will be remembered most for his passion for life, courage, kind heart, and sense of humor.

There will be no calling hours. Memorial services will be conducted Saturday, June 1, at 11 am, at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 149 Deer Hill Avenue, Danbury.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 38 Richards Avenue, Norwalk CT 06854.
