Newtown High School has identified the demi-decile students graduating this spring.

Seventeen members of the NHS Class of 2023 were recognized as performing at the top five percent for their graduating class in academics.

Of these students, Kirtana Kunzweiler and Lauren Jacobs were identified as valedictorian and salutatorian — first and second in their class for academic performance.

These seniors with demi-decile status will be the first in line of their peers to graduate on June 13, or on the rain date of June 14.
