Marie Lages

Marie Lages, 93, of Glen Hill Avenue, Danbury, formerly of Stratford, died May 27 in Glen Hill Nursing Facility, Danbury.

She is survived by a niece, Joan Bowers of Newtown.

Born in New York City March 22, 1907, she was the daughter of the late William and Marie (Schmidt) McGowen. Mrs Lages resided in Stratford for 60 years prior to moving to Danbury eight years ago. She is the widow of Gerard P. Lages, who died May 10, 1985. Marie retired as executive assistant with Union Carbide.

She is also survived by a nephew, John Olson of Clover, S.C.

Friends are invited to attend memorial services on Sunday, June 4, in the First Congregational Church, Main Street, Stratford, at 1 pm, with the Rev John Clark officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, PO Box 750, New York, NY 10131-0304. There are no calling hours.

William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main Street, Stratford, is in care of arrangements.
