Correction

Clarification on the photo that accompanied the May 25 “Tales From Fairfield Hills” story has been received from Newtown resident Bob Geckle. Mr Geckle identified the gentleman in the center of the photograph as his father, George L. Geckle, who served as chief administrative officer at Fairfield Hills for 35 years. His mother, Dorothy Geckle, is the woman third from the left. Mrs Geckle was a nurse at Fairfield Hills Hospital (then known as Fairfield State Hospital) and later worked in the administrative offices. Fourth from right is Dr Clifford Moore, superintendent at Fairfield Hills Hospital. The photo is taken on the steps of Newtown Hall, said Mr Geckle, not Woodbury, and the building in the background is Woodbury Hall, not Shelton Hall.
