No More Reductions

To The School Budget

To the Editor:

I truly hope that our town leaders and residents can find a way to come together and adequately fund our education budget. My husband and I moved our family here a bit over three years ago, specifically for the strong school system. Our choice is just one example of the fact that funding our schools is an investment in both the long- and short-term health of our town.

As Newtown residents with young children, we have met many amazing teachers and administrators who truly care about their students and give their all on a daily basis. To continue to do their job, they also need our financial support.

For these reasons, I firmly support adequately funding both our town and education budgets, and recommend that we do not support further dramatic reductions that will be detrimental to the health of our schools and our town as a whole.
