SCAN Spring Show Call For Artists

The Society of Creative Arts of Newtown (SCAN) seeks entries for its 42nd Annual Spring Juried Art Show.

Receiving will be on Thursday, June 7, from 3 to 6 pm, at Cyrenius Booth Library (lower level), 25 Main Street in Newtown.

Work accepted includes oils, pastels, watercolors, acrylics, mixed media, graphics and sculpture. Traditional as well as contemporary artists are encouraged to enter two pieces. Over $1,000 in cash prizes will be awarded.

The jury of selection and awards includes Diane Dubreuil, Edward Martinez and Peter Seltzer.

This exhibit will run from June 9 to June 16, at the library, and is sponsored by SCAN, an organization dedicated to promoting art and art education in the region.

Artists do not need to be SCAN members in order to participate in this show. Members do receive discounts on their entry fees, however.
