DANBURY – The Housatonic Valley Sports Organizing Committee will host its first Golf Tournament on Wednesday, June 15, at Richter Park in Danbury.

The tourney, a handicapped scramble, is a fundraiser for HV Sports. Golfers who are unable to play but would like to sponsor a $100 tee sign can contact co-chairmen Gary Lemme at Union Savings Bank at glemme@unionSavings.com or Vin Iovino at Viovino@netscape.net.

Connecticut Governor M. Jodi Rell will be the honorary chairman.

Prizes will be awarded for closest to the pin on holes #3 and 17 and the longest drive competition (on hole #2). The top four teams receive generous pro shop gift certificates. There will be raffle prizes and food.
