Dorothy “Dottie” Johnson of Monroe, Trumbull, and Naples, Fla., died June 1. She was born in the Bronx, N.Y.

Ms Johnson was a longtime resident of Trumbull and for 15 years, a part-time resident in Monroe. She also had 27 years of winter residence and was a member at the Foxfire Country Club Community in Naples.

Her husband of 37 years, Clair Johnson; her five children, Susan D. Kliczewski of Newtown, Cathy Uzarski of Bridgeport, David Chomko of Waterbury, Chris Chomko of Blairsville, Ga., and Wendy Sebben, and her husband Paul, of Monroe; eight grandchildren; a brother, Edward Heske, and a sister, Jeanette Mannen; and several nieces and nephews survive Ms Johnson.

Ms Johnson was the owner of Apollo Travel in Monroe for many years. She was a longtime member and past president of the Tashua Knolls Ladies Golf Association in Trumbull, and a longtime member and president of the Foxfire Ladies Golf Association in Naples.

She was very active in the Mah Jongg Clubs at both residences. She enjoyed painting, knitting, and playing bingo. Ms Johnson also volunteered at the Cancer Association in Naples.

Friends may greet the family Wednesday, June 4, from 5 to 8 pm, at Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher & Son Community Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Turnpike, in Monroe. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, June 5, at 10 am, at St Jude Roman Catholic Church, 707 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe. Friends are invited to the funeral home at 9 am, prior to the Mass. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
