Barbara N.    Peck

Barbara N. Peck, 83, of North Port and formerly of Sarasota, Fla., died on May 13.

She was born December 7, 1920 in Newtown and moved to North Port, Fla., nine years ago from Sarasota. She had moved from Newtown to Sarasota in 1957.

Mrs Peck retired as a teacher in Florida and Connecticut and was a former volunteer for the Red Cross swimming program in Sarasota. She attended First Congregational Church of Sarasota and taught Sunday school.

Survivors include her husband, Wesley D. Peck; a daughter, Judy DeMersman of Englewood, Fla.; sons Wesley Peck of Long Beach, Calif., and Gary Peck of Interlachen, Fla.; sisters Shirley Berry and Loretta Hodges, both of Roanoke, Va.; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

No local services are planned. Burial will be later in Newtown.

National Cremation Society, Port Charlotte, Fla., chapter, is in charge.
