June 10 At NVCC

WATERBURY — Naugatuck Valley Community College’s Antonio Biello, professor of digital arts, will bring the rhythm and swing of jazz music to the greater Waterbury community on Thursday, June 10, from 7 to 8:30 pm, in NVCC’s Technology Hall, 750 Chase Parkway.

The concert, called “The Great American Songbook,” will feature a professional quartet of musicians who will perform some of America’s most popular music from Broadway theater and Hollywood musicals to well-known melodies of 1920-1960s, including “My Funny Valentine” by Rodgers and Hart, “Autumn Leaves” by Johnny Mercer, “Four” by Miles Davis, and “Night and Day” by Cole Porter, among others.

The concert is free and open to the public. Freewill donations will be accepted to benefit the NVCC Student Tutoring Fund. Seating is limited and registration is required by contacting Tara Smith at 203-596-8676 or tsmith1@nvcc.commnet.edu.
